Friday Five: Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

I'm a RevGalDogPal, so I'm playing the Friday Five!

Change is a given in life, yet it's not easy for any of us. So strap on your seat belts and let's talk about it:

1. Share, if you wish, the biggest change you experienced this past year.

Sam and I used to go to doggie day care at a really nice place. Then it had to stop having so many dogs come, because the neighbors complained or something. I don't know why anybody would complain about dogs! It's ridiculous.
So, we were sad to stop going, or at least I was, because everybody there loved me and I got to put my paws up on the counter and open the treat jar with my nose, and they all thought I was super-smart and very pretty!!!
Also, they had lots of woods for running and I miss it.
BUT, then our mom called a really nice lady who takes dogs for walks and to the dog park, and now when we need help, she comes over. Sam loves her more than anyone, and I like her a lot, too, but more when we go to the dog park. I'm not into the leash walking. Would you like me to walk you on a leash? I'm just sayin'.

2. Talk about a time you changed your mind about something, important or not.

When Sam came to live here, I didn't like him. But he got better.

3. Bishop John Shelby Spong wrote a controversial book called "Why Christianity Must Change or Die." Setting aside his ideas--what kind of changes would you like to see in the Church?

More churches that welcome dogs. And I am sure Cousin Jack would agree! He told me I was pretty when he came to visit!
Also, more churches that welcome everybody. I love everybody, and I'm sure God does, too.

4. Have you changed your hairstyle/hair color in the last five years? If so, how many times?

I am almost five years old. First I lost my puppy fluff. Then I had to be shaved for hip surgery and then for elbow surgery, and then I got a crazy-short haircut to even it all up. That was not my best look. Now I keep my coat long and full.

Here's a picture when I had my puppy fluff.

5. What WERE they thinking with that New Coke thing?

I don't care as long as they don't change the Milk Bones.

Kits and pups, join in and play!

Harrumph. That would be Tiria. That upstart. Took over the waterbed and dared me to fight her. As if.

...yawn... move to warm spot in the sun or warm spot over the heater vent... what was the question again?? (stretch...)

I am intolerant of those other four pawed, panting, drooly things... I think they are called "canines"?? God did not intend for them to be on earth. It's not natural.

Absolutely not. I am perfect. Go check my servant's blog and you will see.

It's called a Stupid Human Trick. They just don't have a clue, poor dears...

My life changes a lot, so I am used to it. The latest thing is that my mama decided to do this thing called "fostering" and brought a kitten to come live with us. And now they are talking about keeping her. This is a big change and I am not sure I like it. She sits in *my* mama's lap while mom types - it is very not fair.

I didn't like my grandmama's dog - she got in my face. But I realized she was just a baby and wanted to play, and we are friends now.

I am with you, Molly, more churches should invite dogs and everyone else.

4. Have you changed your hairstyle/hair color in the last five years? If so, how many times?

I was almost white as a baby, but am more gold colored now.

What is coke?

Dear Duchess,
I don't worry much about rank. I like everybody just the same!

Dear Kiska,
Of course you're my friend! Do you like the kitten when she's not taking up lap space? I like to sniff kitties, but they don't always want me to do it.

Hi Molly -

I do like to sniff the kitty! She smells really interesting, and will even hold still (well, mostly) so I can put my nose up close to her. That makes her much cooler than the other cats I have "met," who spend most of their time hiding from me. I just want to be friends, so the hiding makes me sad.

I am very jealous of the lap space, so I keep trying to get between her and my mama. The kitten doesn't herd well though, and my mama laughs at me when I fling myself between them.

How do you deal with cats? Do you think I could maybe teach Copper that she cant go near my mom?

1. That's easy. My family decided they needed ANOTHER dog. At least they were smart enough to realize that I'M the ONLY Berner for them.

2. When my little sister Sabrina came to live with us, I thought she was a energetic little plaything. But now she's grown so BIG and eats a lot of food. Plus, I never get any private time with my Mommy anymore. She's always sooooo nosy! I guess it's too late to send her back and say it's not what I wanted.

3. Perhaps not only allow dogs but allow playgroups? I would be happy to be a part of the breaking of the bread and drinking of red punch. Better if the bread is garlic bread with lots of butter, YUM!

4. I, unfortunately, have had some bad trims in my young life. My mommy once sent me to a get a bath for a first time cuz she said I wouldn't fit in the bathtub anymore. They cut off all my feathers! AIYA! Luckily they know better now and just do my paws and flyaway ears. Recently, though, I had to have my back left leg shaved. I was a little shocked to walk outside and feel a cold draft back there! Good thing most of my fur has grown back now and I don't feel so naked back there.

5. What's COKE?

Dear Riley,
I, too, have suffered feather abuse. My mom was not happy!!
I think Dog Playgroups at church are the best idea yet! At my new church I have one new dog friend, Sandy, and my mom has met Cinder and Gilly. I think all four of us would like to play together. Maybe in the vestry? It's a big room with sandwiches.
Thanks for playing! Did you go to the Winter Walk? My mom had a meeting, so we couldn't go. I'm bummed.
Love,
Molly

Dear Kiska,
Cats are a problem because they don't listen to anybody, ever. The cats at my house won't listen even for cookies. What's up with that?
