Friday Five: Renewal

My mom says:
In this week that looks unlikely to hold a complete day off, I am pondering renewal. List four ways you like to relax or give yourself a break. Then name a fifth, something you've never been able to do, a self-care dream.

Hmmm. I'm usually pretty relaxed. But here are some of my favorite activities.

1. Snoozing in my chair.

2. Riding in the car, especially when we drive through at the donut store.

3. Visiting the coffee shop with my mom when she has a meeting. They give out cookies! Then all the people come over and pet me.

4. Eating a cheeseburger. It doesn't happen often enough, but when it does, YUM!

And my dream of a renewing thing to do?

5. Take myself for a walk and go wherever I want. I promise I would be careful crossing the street. There are lots of people out there just waiting to meet me!

Or, I would like to go to Mississippi and ride on a truck with the volunteers. I bet they need a ministry dog there!

What makes you feel refreshed?

Hi Molly,
I have taken myself on a walk a few times in my life when the gate was open or I snuck under the fence.

One time, it was fun when I was chasing another dog and mom was chasing me...mom didn't think it was fun.

They fixed the fence and almost never leave the gate open now.

The previous post was from Fenway, not me. Although I take myself on walks too.

Hi Molly--Nothing refreshes me like a walk! I'd love to take one by myself too. In fact, one night not long ago I did take a nice walk around the block by myself. I had plenty of time to sniff all the garbage cans and explore everyone's front yard--until mom came running up to me with a leash in her hand! Rats!

Why was she so worried? She thought I was lost--but I knew where I was!

(P.S. I finally got my own Blogger account, but it won't let me post.I still have to depend on mom for now.)

Riley's 5 Renewal Strategies:

1. Flip over on my back for a tummy rub.
2. Stick my snout between someone's legs to get a bum rub.
3. Going for car rides (I like to go to the full service gas station, they have treats!)
4. Snacking on a Kong-filled treat. Mommy's great at packing these with goodies.

I am always dreaming of piles and piles of fresh snow that I can plow my nose through, make Berner snow angels in, and of course EAT!

Riley, I love your Five! Great answers!
Amie, they just don't trust us, do they?
Fenway, my mom FREAKS OUT if I run off even a little. She should know I'm just looking for somebody's front porch or back deck, so I can visit!

Dearest Molly,
I am writing at the request of Abigail, the beautiful berner who brightens my life and the life of the entire congregation!
Abby is our greeter at church during the week, welcoming everyone to her favorite place with a big ole but wag.
She would LUV to be your friend and swap stories of how Berners bring peace and joy to the church and the world!

You can come see my dog, Sister. She will ride in a truck with you. Maybe you can find Texas volunteers who will give you a big bag of Cheetos!
